The video, yesterday, addressed your strategy potential and how this can be utilised by helping your people to truly understand your strategy and live it out.
Today I stumbled across some recent research by Timothy Devinney. He and his colleagues asked employees of 20 major Australian corporations with clearly articulated public strategies to identify their company’s strategy in a multiple choice question (6 options).
What percentage of your employees could do this?
In Devinney’s research sample 29% of employees answered correctly (you need to take into consideration the gambling chance is 16.67% with 6 multiple choice options…).
Firms with training initiatives directed at this, had employees who were better at recognising the firm’s goals and strategy.
